This webinar will focus on causes, recognition, prevention and treatment of substance abuse among lawyers. It will discuss the relationship between stress, substance abuse and addiction, and mental health disorders, as well as the impact of substance abuse on a lawyer's fitness to practice. Recommendations for addressing lawyer well-being will also be discussed.
Hilda Gurley, JD, RPh
Hilda Gurley is an attorney* and a registered pharmacist. Currently in-house counsel to Premier, Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina, she advises Premier’s specialty pharmacy acquisitions in matters related to contracting, pharmacy compliance and pharmacy operations. Prior to assuming this role, Hilda was the Director of Pharmacy at a health care system hospital, responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Pharmacy Department, including inpatient, outpatient and retail areas. Over the past twenty-five years, she has also held several government and private-sector in-house counsel positions. Her primary areas of practice have included health care law, environmental law, contracts and litigation. *Licensed in Michigan. Not Licensed in North Carolina.
